“Very often overlooked, the African cuisine is rich in colors and flavors ... Fragrant spices fine cuisine of Africa always surprises by its variety as well as by its taste. So commonly found in
the rice dish to accompany the dishes, you can also taste all the foods that characterize other world cuisine: fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, dairy products ... But with special flavors
nicely!” (By Venicia GUINOT)
Africa is the cradle of humanity, but also a vast continent of cultures, backgrounds and multiple influences.
And who says cultural variety means variety of flavors! Now with me, you will discover the typical African cuisine from North to South, East to West.
Africa with its many ethnic groups offers a variety of cuisines grouped by geographic area. If you go to North Africa, you will find recipes like "tagine”, "couscous" or the rich and sweet
pastries in Morocco or Tunisia. In West Africa (such as in Senegal) and Central Africa (e.g. Cameroon), meals are prepared from maize, millet, cassava or yam.
You can easily conclude that the African culinary art is influenced by its different people and its rituals were often linked with food. We celebrate "yam" in Côte d'Ivoire and "Ghana". Did you
know that "rice" is sacred in Madagascar? Yes, it is! In South Africa, meals are very symbolic to Zulus people and each tribe has a very specific way to cook, dish and eat. Ghanaians, to be
closer to their ancestors, eat in clay dishes that have special significance. And in "Dogon", the preparation of certain dishes is a kind of initiation for the daughters of the tribe to the
future life. Other African people like "Tuareg" also use poetry to explore their culinary secrets.
African cuisine has also inspired other countries. In the Gulf of Guinea, African
and Brazilian cuisines are twins. I have a feeling that you are still in doubt ... Well, “cassava”, for example, widely used in Africa and especially in the two Congo’s is originally from Brazil.
There are also beans and cooking oil in the ritual of these two countries.
The African cuisine is very diverse and we, at "Black World", are more determined and very excited to take you out and get your hands into the dough. The "couscous", "donuts” and other baked
goods will soon be no more mystery for you. And if our cuisine is synonymous to the most cumbersome in your eyes, I am proud to inform you that the dishes in modern restaurants are adapted to
clients. That's up to you to prepare your meals in less fat. So are you ready?
