On 25 November 2011, join Rainbow Collection and partners Edgars, *Africa!Ignite, *SAfm, Trinergy Brand Connectors, BEHOLDSA and Umuzi Photo Club to launch the Shake the World Millennium Development Goal bracelet campaign in KwaZulu-Natal.


Eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were set by the United Nations in 2000 and the Shake the World campaign aims to ignite all South Africans to support the MDGs and become proactive agents of social change. The Shake the World campaign actively and directly contributes to three specific MDGs (1, 3 & 8) while creating jobs for rural women crafters in KwaZulu-Natal.


The crafters, who are mostly women, tell stories of how the income generated from the Shake the World campaign has already improved the quality of their families' lives, with some building new houses.

The MDG bracelets come in bright colours, each corresponding to one of the eight MDGs and are currently on sale at 40 Edgars stores nationwide at R19.95 per bracelet.


So this Christmas, Shake the World for a great cause and help us further achieve our goal to sell a million Millennium bracelets globally; thus creating more jobs for our rural crafters.
