Angola: Angola, Portugal and Brazil Prepare CPLP Culture Day01 déc. 2011
Ottawa — The Angolan extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Canada, Agostinho Tavares, meto n Monday his Portuguese and Brazilian counterparts, João Pedro Silveira de Carvalho and Piragibe dos Santos Tarragó, respectively, to discuss issues related to Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP).
During the meeting, the three diplomats created a taskforce to prepare the celebration of Day of Portuguese Language and culture of Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) culture in Canada, marked every year on 5 May.
The taskforce is comprised by representatives of the three countries embassy in Canada and it will be entitled to create conditions hold a cycle of lusophony cinema in Ottawa.
The ambassadors of Angola, Portugal and Brazil agreed on preparing prizes that will handed over to the best students of Portuguese language courses taught at Canadian Universities.
5 May was set as the day of Portuguese language and Culture of CPLP, during the meeting of the 14th Council of Ministers of the organisation, held in June in 2009 in Cape Verde.
